HUSH Roblox Beginner Guide: Raids, Noise Mechanics, and Exits

HUSH Roblox beginner guide basics center on managing audio, looting supplies quietly, and reaching extraction points before the twenty-minute Stillwater timer expires. Staying crouched, using melee weapons, and securing valuables in protected containers prevent total gear loss upon death.

Created by Blue Code Studios, HUSH is a pure PvE extraction shooter set in the quarantined town of Stillwater. Servers host up to 100 players, with individual raids supporting up to 12 survivors either playing solo or in squads of up to four. New accounts start with $5,000 cash. The core gameplay loop requires gathering supplies, evading sound-sensitive infected, completing trader objectives, and extracting safely.

Deployment Setup and Raid Settings

The deployment menu on the PLAY screen lets you configure raid parameters before entering Stillwater. Raids operate under a 20-minute countdown timer. You must reach an active extraction zone and wait out the extraction timer before the clock hits zero, or the town gets bombed and unextracted survivors die.

Difficulties and time settings adjust infected behavior:

  • Normal serves as the standard starting tier for learning routes and room layouts.
  • Hard spawns more infected that sprint faster.
  • Nightmare locks the time to night and enables fast bites. Unlocking it requires finishing Doc's Patient Zero task, detailed in the nightmare mode unlock breakdown.
  • Time of day settings include DAY, DUSK, and NIGHT, while ANY selects a setting randomly.

A six-step tutorial introduces basic controls. In this initial house, players loot a Crowbar, eliminate an infected walker with a melee strike, search bedroom wardrobes for a P17 pistol, retrieve a Car Battery, and step into the green Garden Gate beacon to extract. Completing this run awards 20 EXP, $5,000 in extracted loot value, and finishes Doc's FIRST RESPONSE task for an extra $1,500 and 40 reputation.

Noise Mechanics and Sound Management

Infected in Stillwater cannot see player models, relying entirely on sound to detect targets. The bottom-left interface displays an audio status meter showing SILENT, LOW, or AUDIBLE. Firing unsuppressed firearms acts as an immediate alert to nearby infected.

Crouching with Ctrl or C dampens footstep noise. Sprinting with Shift drains stamina and produces loud audio cues. Smashed window glass creates sharp noise spikes; opening doors cleanly with F avoids unnecessary commotion. Shutting doors behind you delays pursuing enemies, as infected must break through wood barriers to follow.

The infected population includes distinct types:

  • Walkers: Standard slow-moving threats easily eliminated with quiet melee hits.
  • Runners: Fast-moving infected that chase down loud survivors.
  • Screamers: Female infected that emit loud shrieks upon alert, drawing surrounding packs.
  • Listeners: Completely blind variants with heightened hearing range.
  • Ringers: Infected carrying active pagers that create persistent noise.
  • Riot Cops: Armored infected equipped with riot shields that resist frontal bullet impacts.
  • Crawlers: Low-profile infected found in select interiors and needed for Doc's Ward C task.

Environmental events also manipulate audio levels. The AIR TRAFFIC notice signals an overhead helicopter whose rotor blades draw infected along its flight trajectory. Raid modifiers such as BLACKOUT turn streetlights off, while LOUD NIGHT amplifies environmental noise and OUTBREAK increases infected density by approximately one-third.

Stillwater Extraction Points

Selecting an exit route early prevents panicked searches when the raid timer drops. The Stillwater map guide highlights western Route 9 and the southeastern Hospital as primary reference points. The table below compares the standard Stillwater extraction options:

Exit RouteRecommended SituationRequired Cost or Hazard
Highway RoadblockStandard runs without collected vehicle parts or flaresHolding position between police cars during the countdown timer
Hospital HelipadRaids where a flare was looted or brought inLighting a signal flare directly on the pad and holding the zone
Smuggler's BoatFast escapes along the eastern riverbankPaying 2,000 Cash from your stash or inventory
Storm DrainEmergency exits after abandoning bulky packsDropping your backpack before entering the extraction passage

Highway Roadblock on Route 9 remains open permanently. To extract there, stand inside the yellow ground marker positioned between two squad cars by the sandbags until the EXTRACTING counter finishes. The Hospital Helipad requires placing and lighting a signal flare directly on the concrete pad. Smuggler's Boat requires interacting with the boatman and spending 2,000 Cash. Gas Station Pickup requires delivering both a Car Battery and a Fuel Can before the truck departs.

Inventory Grids, Containers, and Medical Treatment

Carried gear uses a shape-based grid inventory divided into separate containers: Pockets, Rig, Backpack, and Secure Pouch. Pockets hold four individual 1x1 cells. Rigs and backpacks provide larger grids, such as the 12-cell Rifleman Rig (4x3) and the 20-cell Hiking Backpack (4x5). If an item prompt displays No Space despite open slots elsewhere, the item footprint does not match a single continuous opening. Pressing R rotates held items.

Carrying excess weight drains stamina quickly and lowers top movement speed. Heavy materials like the 13.5 kg Car Battery sell for $5,120 but hinder sprinting during escapes.

Damage sustained during encounters requires distinct medical items:

  • Bleeding causes continuous health loss and displays a red border on the screen. Bandages stop bleeding immediately.
  • Infection occurs from infected bites, showing blurred screen edges and a countdown. Antiviral Capsules cure the infection or extend remaining survival time.
  • Fractures reduce mobility and require a Splint to repair leg bones.
  • Stamina depletion can be countered by drinking Cold Cola, which restores stamina regeneration for 3 minutes.
  • Health restoration relies on Pills, Painkillers, or First Aid Kits once active bleeding has been patched.

When death occurs inside a raid, all standard gear in pockets, rigs, and backpacks is lost. Items placed inside the Secure Pouch remain protected and return to your hideout automatically. The default Secure Pouch contains a 2x2 grid (4 cells). Upgrading via the gamepasses store to the Secure Case 3x4 expands this protected space to 12 cells.

Trader Progression and Economy

The hideout serves as your staging base between raids. It houses upgrade stations including the Workbench, Generator, Shooting Range, and Med Station. Recovered loot should be transferred immediately into your Stash Rack to keep deployment bags clear, using the methods outlined in our stash management guide.

Three primary NPC merchants manage supplies:

  • Doc (Dr. Nadia Grover, Recovery Clinic): Sells Bandages ($110), Splints ($340), Painkillers ($410), First Aid Kits ($1,700), and Antiviral Capsules ($10,000). She buys recovered medicines and chemical loot.
  • Gunner (Walt Brookham, Grain Silo): Sells the beginner Starter Kit ($1,000 for a P17 pistol, 9mm FMJ, and Bayonet), standard P17 handguns ($3,200), Soft Armor Vests ($4,000), and advanced rifles. Refer to the weapons guide for damage profiles.
  • Scrapper (Sal, Old Gas Station): Sells Duffel Bags ($3,795 for 18 cells), Hiking Backpacks ($8,100 for 20 cells), tools, wire, and locked-door keys.

Completing trader tasks grants cash, items, and merchant reputation. Reaching Scrapper Level 3 demands 45 reputation and 8 completed extractions. Unlocking the Gunsmith crafting station requires completing Gunner's MORE task, Doc's HER SCRAP quest, and an assigned Scrapper contract. Player-to-player commerce occurs on the Blackmarket, where players list surplus firearms and equipment for cash, as covered in the trading guide. Developing hideout stations further expands your passive preparation between Stillwater runs, which connects directly to the hideout building guide.
